Two Brothers and a Truck
Cape Haze FL Movers — Local, Licensed, and Ready to Move You
Cape Haze is the quiet, water-wrapped peninsula of southwest Charlotte County — bordered by Lemon Bay and Gasparilla Sound on one side and the Myakka River and Charlotte Harbor on the other, with Placida, Coral Creek, and the Boca Grande Causeway at its southern tip. Whether you’re moving into a canal home in the original Cape Haze neighborhood, a street in Cape Haze East, or a home near Coral Creek, 2 Brothers and a Truck brings Southwest Florida’s most trusted moving service to your door. Licensed. Insured. 5-star rated. Since 2014.
What Really Sets Us Apart From Other Cape Haze Moving Companies
Cape Haze is a peninsula of waterfront neighborhoods, deed-restricted subdivisions, and boaters’ homes — many with canal frontage, private docks, elevated foundations, and long drives in from Gasparilla Road or Placida Road. That combination creates specific moving requirements around access, stairs, weather windows, and community rules. 2 Brothers and a Truck plans for every one of them before move day.

Mark and his brother have helped us move twice in two years. They're there on time, have quality equipment, are attentive to keeping the furniture and possessions protected from damage, and they're physically strong. Hopefully we won't have to move again, but if we do we would work with them again for sure.Posted on Google![]()

Ready to Hire a Reliable Cape Haze Moving Company?
Cape Haze draws boaters, anglers, retirees, snowbirds, and buyers who want Boca Grande’s waters and beaches without barrier-island prices. Scott and Mark have been moving people throughout Southwest Florida since 2014, and they understand what makes Cape Haze moves different — from elevated waterfront homes with exterior stairs to canal lots where the driveway, the dock, and the seawall all factor into how the truck is staged.
They built 2 Brothers and a Truck because the moving industry kept letting people down with inflated invoices, careless handling, and damage denied. They decided Southwest Florida — including the Cape Haze peninsula’s mix of waterfront homes and quiet, deed-restricted neighborhoods — deserved a moving company built on genuine accountability. Not a franchise. Not a call center. Local owners who are personally responsible for every job they accept.
Today, 2 Brothers and a Truck is fully licensed (FLA.IM#2428), fully insured, and 5-star rated on Google. Placida, Cape Haze, Cape Haze East, Cape Haze Windward, Coral Creek, Boca Vista Harbor, and the Rotonda communities at the peninsula’s north end are all part of our Charlotte County service area.

What we do
Why Choose Two Brothers and a Truck for Your Cape Haze Move?
Cape Haze is quiet by design — no downtown, no strip of chain stores, just water, mangroves, and neighborhoods tucked off Gasparilla Road. Residents expect service providers to respect that. Here’s what separates a mover who understands it from one who doesn’t.
REASON 1: You Talk to the Owners
Call 2 Brothers and you reach Scott or Mark. Not a Port Charlotte or Fort Myers franchise dispatch. Not a call center routing peninsula calls through a regional office. Local owners who know the drive down Gasparilla Road, know where Placida Road meets the causeway, and are personally accountable for your move from first call to final walkthrough.
REASON 2: The Estimate Is the Invoice
Waterfront homes, long driveways, and exterior stairs are exactly the details some movers “discover” on move day and bill for afterward. Your written estimate from 2 Brothers accounts for your property’s access, stairs, and carry distance upfront. What’s in the estimate is what you pay.
REASON 3: Elevated and Waterfront Homes Get the Full Professional Standard
Many Cape Haze homes are built up off the ground, with exterior staircases, lanais, and pool cages that turn every carry into a planned route. Floor runners go down before any equipment enters, door jamb guards go on every doorway, and every piece of furniture is blanket-wrapped and stretch-wrapped before it moves — whether it’s going up a flight of stairs or across a tile entry.
REASON 4: Reliability in a Seasonal Market
Cape Haze has a large share of second homes and seasonal residents, which means closings, estate transitions, and snowbird departures that run on a fixed calendar. We confirm 24 hours before, send an ETA on move morning, and are within our scheduled window on every job. In over a decade of Southwest Florida moves, unexplained no-shows are not on our record.
REASON 5: Same-Day and Next-Day Availability
Cape Haze’s real estate and seasonal timelines don’t always allow for three-week lead times. We maintain same-day and next-day availability for the situations that require it.
Making Your Cape Haze Move Simple, Safe, and Stress-Free
The Cape Haze peninsula isn’t one subdivision — it’s a string of communities running from the Rotonda area in the north, down Gasparilla Road and Placida Road, to the Boca Grande Causeway. Placida, Cape Haze, Cape Haze East, Cape Haze Windward, Coral Creek, and Boca Vista Harbor each have their own lot sizes, street layouts, and community rules. 2 Brothers and a Truck plans around all of them.
LOCAL MOVES IN AND AROUND CAPE HAZE
Moving within the peninsula, or between Cape Haze and neighboring Rotonda West, Englewood, Port Charlotte, or Punta Gorda? We know the routes, the turn-ins off Gasparilla Road, and the move-in rules that apply in deed-restricted neighborhoods. We plan before move day so nothing surprises us at your address.
LONG-DISTANCE MOVES
Cape Haze draws many seasonal residents and retirees from the Northeast and Midwest, and transitions between a peninsula home and a northern home are a major part of our Southwest Florida business. Full end-to-end service with communication throughout.
RESIDENTIAL MOVES
Canal-front homes with private docks, elevated waterfront homes, golf-course homes near Coral Creek, established ranch homes, and newer construction across the peninsula. Senior moves and downsizing transitions are a specialty.
COMMERCIAL MOVES
Business relocations along the Placida Road and Gasparilla Road corridors and into neighboring Englewood and Rotonda. Evening and weekend availability.
PACKING AND UNPACKING
Full home or room-specific packing with materials rated for Gulf Coast humidity. Every box labeled by room. Unpacking available at your destination.
JUNK REMOVAL
Seasonal home turnovers, estate clearances, and downsizing moves benefit particularly from junk removal coordination. We handle it before or after your move.
LOADING AND UNLOADING
Using a PODS unit, rental truck, or storage container? Professional loading and unloading with full protection.
What Reputable Movers Really Do — And Why Cape Haze Residents Should Verify
Cape Haze homeowners have often invested heavily in their waterfront properties, and they should expect a mover to protect that investment. Here’s what the professional moving standard looks like — and how to verify it before booking anyone.
THEY ARRIVE WITH THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT
Furniture pads, stretch wrap, floor protection runners, foam door jamb guards, dollies, appliance hand trucks, and load-securing tie-down straps. A crew arriving without protection equipment is not prepared for a Cape Haze move — regardless of how low their quote was.
THEY WRAP FURNITURE AS A DEFAULT
Blanket-wrapping every piece of furniture before it moves is the professional minimum — not a premium option. Stretch wrap secures the blanket in transit. If a mover asks whether you want your furniture wrapped, you already have your answer.
THEY PROTECT BOTH HOMES
Floor runners before any equipment enters. Door jamb guards on every doorway. Both properties — the one you’re leaving and the one you’re arriving at — get the same protection. Any mover that charges extra for floor protection is not operating professionally.
THEY LOAD THE TRUCK STRATEGICALLY
Strategic loading is skill — not improvised stacking. Heaviest items against the cab wall. Weight distributed evenly. Gaps filled. Everything tied down. How the truck is loaded determines what arrives intact.
THEY HOLD A VALID FLORIDA MOVER’S LICENSE
2 Brothers and a Truck is licensed as FLA.IM#2428. Verify at fdacs.gov before booking anyone for a Cape Haze move. An unlicensed company gives you no regulatory recourse.
AT 2 BROTHERS, THIS IS EVERY CAPE HAZE MOVE
Canal-front or inland, elevated or slab-on-grade, a 1960s original or new construction — every Cape Haze customer gets the full professional standard.
Living in Cape Haze, Florida — A Great Place to Call Home
Cape Haze is a peninsula, not a town — an arm of southwest Charlotte County surrounded by water on three sides. Lemon Bay and Gasparilla Sound run along its western edge, the Myakka River and Charlotte Harbor along its eastern edge, and a chain of barrier islands — Knight Island, Don Pedro, Little Gasparilla, and Gasparilla Island with Boca Grande — sits between it and the Gulf. The result is a place where nearly every neighborhood is defined by its water.
The peninsula’s modern history runs along a railroad. The Charlotte Harbor and Northern Railway reached Boca Grande in 1907, carrying phosphate, cattle, and local crops like watermelons through stops such as Placida on their way to the steamships at Gasparilla Island. The trains are long gone, but the right-of-way lives on as the Cape Haze Pioneer Trail — a paved, roughly 8-mile path running from the trail park on Gasparilla Road past Rotonda and over Coral Creek to the edge of the Boca Grande Causeway. The Placida Bunkhouse, built around 1907 to house railroad workers, has been preserved by the county.
The neighborhoods each have their own feel. The original Cape Haze community, built beginning in the 1960s, is a waterfront neighborhood of canal homes with mid-century roots — including the modernist Cape Haze Community Center on Spyglass Alley. Cape Haze East is an established, deed-restricted neighborhood with quieter streets and more attainable lots, and Cape Haze Windward offers a similar residential character. Coral Creek and Boca Vista Harbor sit closer to Gasparilla Sound with golf, marina, and deep-water access. And Placida itself — where Placida Road turns into Gasparilla Road and Coral Creek meets the sound — is the working-waterfront gateway to Boca Grande.
Nature is part of daily life. The Wildflower Preserve, a former golf course returned to native habitat, offers walking trails. The surrounding waters are protected as the Cape Haze Aquatic Preserve, and the backwaters of Lemon Bay, Gasparilla Sound, and the Myakka River are some of the most productive fishing and paddling water in the region. Boca Grande’s beaches and famous tarpon fishing are a short drive across the causeway.
The rest of Charlotte County is close at hand. Englewood’s shops and beach are a short drive north, Rotonda West’s golf courses sit at the peninsula’s northern end, and Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda — with their hospitals, shopping, and the Punta Gorda Airport — are reachable via SR 776 and US 41. Sarasota is roughly an hour north.
Cape Haze attracts boaters, anglers, retirees, seasonal residents, and buyers who want Boca Grande’s water without island pricing. There’s no downtown and no nightlife scene — and for the people who choose the peninsula, that’s the point.

Why People Love Living in Cape Haze, Florida
Ask Cape Haze residents what they love and the answer usually starts at the dock. For many homeowners here, the boat is as much a part of the house as the kitchen. Canal and harbor access puts Gasparilla Sound, Charlotte Harbor, and the Gulf passes within easy reach, and the fishing — from snook and redfish in the backwaters to tarpon off Boca Grande — is among the best on the Gulf Coast.
Part of it is the quiet. Cape Haze has no downtown and was never meant to have one. Evenings are dark and calm, traffic is light, and the soundtrack is wading birds and boat motors rather than sirens. Residents ride the Pioneer Trail in the morning, run errands in Englewood or Rotonda, and are back on the water by afternoon.
Part of it is the value. The peninsula sits at the doorstep of Boca Grande and the barrier islands, but its homes are generally far more attainable than island property — a trade-off that appeals to people who want the same water without the island price tag.
And part of it is the sense of place. Between the old railroad corridor, the mid-century Cape Haze neighborhood, and the working waterfront at Placida, the peninsula has a history and character that newer developments can’t recreate.
Moving to Cape Haze is choosing water, quiet, and space. We’re here to make the move the straightforward part.
Common Cape Haze Moving Pain Points — And How We Fix Every One
PAIN POINT: “My new Cape Haze home is elevated and everything has to go up exterior stairs.”
OUR FIX: Stair carries are planned, not improvised. We note stair counts, landings, and turns during your estimate, bring the right equipment and crew size, and protect railings, walls, and floors along the way. It’s in your written estimate — not a surprise line item.
PAIN POINT: “I’m moving into a deed-restricted neighborhood and I’m not sure about move-in rules.”
OUR FIX: Some Cape Haze communities have rules on truck parking, move hours, or advance notice. We help you identify what to ask your HOA or association before move day and build those requirements into your move plan.
PAIN POINT: “I got a quote from a Charlotte County mover and paid much more at the end.”
OUR FIX: Written estimate. Written commitment. Your invoice matches your estimate. Long driveways, waterfront access, and stairs are not pretexts for post-move surcharges. What we quote is what you pay.
PAIN POINT: “My home is on an island with no bridge.”
OUR FIX: We do island moves. Homes on Knight Island, Don Pedro, and Little Gasparilla Island are reached by ferry or boat rather than by road, so we plan around ferry or barge access and schedules and build that into your written estimate. Tell us your island and dock situation when you call, and we’ll map out the move from the mainland to your door.
PAIN POINT: “I’m a snowbird with a tight seasonal transition window.”
OUR FIX: Seasonal residence transitions are a significant part of our Southwest Florida business. We understand compressed snowbird timelines and maintain same-day and next-day availability for situations where the window doesn’t accommodate advance planning.
PAIN POINT: “I can’t verify the mover is licensed.”
OUR FIX: 2 Brothers and a Truck is licensed as FLA.IM#2428. Verify it at fdacs.gov before booking anyone.
